When to go?

All year-round fun is to be had in Snowdonia! There’s always something to do, whatever the weather.

How difficult is it?

You can choose a challenge to suit your ability. Never scrambled before? No worries, we can start you off nice and easy on some classic trips in Ogwen. Mostly done it all? Let’s search out those esoteric gems that Snowdonia has plenty of!

How fit do I need to be?

You need to be able to walk for about 5-6 hours and carry a ruck sack weighing over 5kg. Over the course of the day, your ascent rate should be around 300m/hour.

For scrambling/climbing and summer walking a B2 boot, which is slightly stiff will be ideal.  Light trousers, wind/waterproofs both top and bottoms.  Warm hat and gloves.  Gaiters.  Rock shoes.  Harness (belay device, 4 screwgate karabiners, one 120cm sling and 2 prusik loops), helmet, telescopic poles. Ruck Sack to fit it all.  Don’t forget your camera/smartphone!  Though make sure it’s in a waterproof case.  Ibex Mountain Guides can provide you with the items in italics.
